About the Pediatric Team

Meet Dr. Wenger:

Dr. Kristi Wenger was born in Florida & moved to Arkansas when she was 4 years old.  She attended Kindergarten in Little Rock before her family moved to White Hall (south of Pine Bluff). She graduated from White Hall High School in 1991 with no intention of becoming a doctor.  She went to college to follow in her father & grandfather’s footsteps and become an engineer.

After her junior year of college, she spent the summer at UAMS (Little Rock) working in a research lab dissecting human arms for the Orthopedics department.  It was then that she realized a laboratory job didn’t fit her personality & she began the medical school application process.  She graduated Cum Laude from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia with a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering with specialization in Biomedical. Dr. Wenger graduated from UAMS in 2000.  She completed her internship & residency training from Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 2003.  Dr. Wenger is board certified in Pediatrics.

Dr. Wenger is on staff at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.  She is a member of the Arkansas Medial Society & a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
