Our Appointment Policy

Making and Keeping Appointment Policies

When making your appointment, be sure to let our receptionist know the nature of the visit (a rash, ear pain, well-child or physical, etc.)  Also, at the time of making the appointment, if you have several questions or concerns. If one child has an appointment scheduled and you wish to add a sibling to that same appointment time, you must call ahead and speak to scheduling.  Reason: We want to make sure you have enough time for all concerns.  If we try to squeeze multiple issues (or children) into a “quick visit”, it will result in cutting you short (not fair to you), or making other patients wait while we finish (not fair to them).

Our “on-time” and “late” policy

We understand there are times when you miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligation to work or family.  However, we urge you to call 24-hours prior to cancel your appointment. We can reschedule your appointment for a more convenient time.  Patients arriving early, on time, or up to 10 minutes late will be seen in order they were scheduled.  Patients arriving more than 10 minutes late will be asked to reschedule.

Our “no-show” policy

If you have not called to cancel or reschedule an appointment, the patient will be marked as a no-show. If a patient has 3 no-show appointments in one year without calling to cancel or reschedule, the entire family will be asked to find a new doctor.

Our Sick-call visit policy

We offer sick call every afternoon. These appointments are limited so please call right at 8am and we will give you a time. Well visits are every morning from 8am until 11am. We do offer a limited number of afternoon appointments.

Please note:

We will try out best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee that the time will be your first choice. We must offer appointment slots on a first-come, first-served basis. Your appointment may be scheduled with either of our providers.  If you have a preference, we will certainly try to accommodate it.  However, if one provider is at the hospital, completely booked, etc., we will schedule your appointment with another. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we cannot guarantee that you will be see.  You must call ahead.

“Drop-ins” aren’t fair to families who have called.

If we are very busy, we reserve the right to determine what constitutes an urgent sick visit.  Visits that are not considered urgent, such as well-baby checks, bedwetting, ADHD, etc., will be asked to schedule another day so we can work on truly ill children.
